What is the name of the isolation step used in solvent extraction that uses methylbenzane and hexane?

and how does it remove both soluble and insoluble impurities??What is the name of the isolation step used in solvent extraction that uses methylbenzane and hexane?
THis could use some addtional information to give a good answer.

I'm guessing that you are doing an extraction of an aqueous solution with hexane and then using toluene (mehtylbenzene) to azeotrope the water.
