Does anyone know of eccentric jobs that involve long peroids of Isolation which are based in the EU?

I am writing a few books and am not sure what to do with my life otherwise. I would like the chance to go and do a job that is isolated doesnt really need to be payed well but aslong as it is isolated. Prehaps watching for forest fires? Checking nature? I know such jobs exist but am not sure how to look for them.

I ask under the idea that some people would not like to do a job that is lonely but I would.

Can anyone help?Does anyone know of eccentric jobs that involve long peroids of Isolation which are based in the EU?
Light house keeper, if that job still exists! Working on an oil rig.

I know a successful writer in NZ, he started out as an ambulance driver %26amp; as there were nights when they didn't get any callouts or only one or 2, he started writing. He's had books published, written plays acted out by well known actors (in this country - New Zealand) %26amp; makes his real money by having a column in a newspaper.

Sometimes you get offered free accomodation in return for looking after a boarding house or block of apartments rented out to tourists, etc %26amp; you are often not busy as it's not like hotel or motel reception or anything. Some Buddhist temples or retreats offer free accomodation for up to 3 months if you do the gardening %26amp; some basic chores for them. You might have to pretend that you are writing a spiritual book though. Just get out of showing them the finished product by saying you've only done the first chapter.

Or stay where you are %26amp; just get a part time job %26amp; use the rest of your time to write.
