What are the six different forms of isolation that commonly cause a new species to form?

1. Geographic isolation 鈥?Occurs when species are separated


2. Polyploidy 鈥?A type of mutation that results from errors during meiosis.


3. Habitat isolation 鈥揙ccurs when two organisms live in the same area but encounter reach other rarely.


4. Behavioral isolation --- Occurs when two animals become isolated from each other because of some change in behavior by one member or group.


5. Temporal isolation 鈥?Temporal refers to time. Different plants of one species living in the same area may become functionally separated into two populations via temporal isolation.


6. Reproductive isolation 鈥?Closely related to species may be unable to mate because of anatomical incompatibility.
