How and why did the usa moved from isolation to active global involvement under president eisenhower?

what the berlin wall and the missile crisis had to do with this change? How and why did the usa moved from isolation to active global involvement under president eisenhower?
We moved from isolation during the presidency of Franklin Roosevelt. In order to help Britain before we entered WW2, FDR had to create the ';Lend/Lease'; act, to give them aid under the guise of a loan. I think he used the analogy that if your neighbor's house was burning, you would lend them your garden hose. But it still took the bombing of Pearl Harbor to get us involved. Once that happened, we were in.

The Berlin wall didn't come down until the late eighties. The missile crisis happened in the 1960s, when Russia purportedly built missile sites in Cuba and we created a naval blockade to stop Russian warships.
