When should i put my pregnant guppy in an isolation tank so that she won't be too stressed? When do i use the isolation tank on my guppy?
If your isolation tank is a small breeding trap that floats in the main tank, DO NOT put her in as soon as she's pregnant! She would be in there for almost a month and that would kill her!
You should try to time it as close to delivery as you can. You will know she is ready when she gets very big, her belly starts to look more boxy than round and her vent opens. She will likely stop eating when she is about to drop. Then, and ONLY then should you put her in the breeding trap.
If you have a separate nursery tank, that is cycled, filtered, and ready for the fry, you can put her in there a few days before she's ready to drop. But still, closer to the actual delivery time is always best! When do i use the isolation tank on my guppy?
My guppy kept jumping out ! I reckon as soon as possible when you notice a darkening round her swelling tum. Otherwise, there is nothing like trying to fish (excuse the pun) a whole load of live fry out of the main tank but you kinda feel you have to give them a chance don't you lol.
YOu should put her in the Isolation tank as soon as you knopw she is pregnant. She should be in view of the other tank so she isn';t super stressed
